ASTHMA and ALLERGIES

The problem began at 7 months old. The baby had 2 hospital stays and daily nebulizer treatments 4 times per day. Because I was under chiropractic care, I brought my baby to my chiropractor. The asthma attacks subsided completely in a few months time. He hasn't had an attack in 7 years. He has been able to resume all activities because of regained health. He can live freely again without carrying the machine around and his medicine. I am recommending chiropractic care to others. ... by E.B.

I had difficulty breathing when participating in outdoor activities. I needed an inhaler. My father was under chiropractic care and recommended it for my particular problem. I have no more difficulty breathing when participating in outdoor activities. I notice that I have better resistance and do not get sick as often. ... by V.B., 10 years old

For over 10 years, I had to use albuterol, inhalers, and steroids. A friend in church recommended chiropractic because he had the same problem. My asthma had diminished by about 65%. I now also have better resistance. ... by B.G.

At 5 years old, I had asthma, hay fever and allergies. One day at school, I fell down the stairs. Over the next few days, I became very weak. My eyes became severely crossed. My father's cousin, an M.D., was determined that they were going to perform surgery and cut the muscles to my eyes so they would straighten out. At this point, my father took me to visit my mother's uncle, a chiropractor. He determined that I had nerve interference in my neck and that my problem might be coming from this area. He told my parents that we could always have the surgery done, but he wanted to try a more conservative approach first. After a couple of weeks, I was improving. After the first month passed, my eyes straightened out. Even though the symptoms were gone, my nerve interference was still present. So I continued my chiropractic treatment. Over the next few months, one by one, my allergies disappeared. Within 6 months, my hayfever topped. In a year's time, my asthma completely stopped (at an age much younger than medical doctors predicted I would out grow it)! As I grew older, I played football, basketball and ran track. I never had any problems with allergies, hayfever and asthma. _ by A.R. *

If I only knew then what I know now, quite possibly, I could have spared myself the pain and anguish of 4 nasal operations within 5 years and the agony of chronic bronchial asthma, sinus congestion and other ailments. For 8 years, I had been on steroids with only temporary relief, at best. My husband urged me to visit his chiropractor, but I refused. My back was fine. Finally, I agreed to make an appointment. I learned for the first time how important the spinal column is and how the proper alignment of the spine affects our health, from the top of our heads to the soles of our feet. Chiropractic is not for back problems only. The adjustments worked a miracle in my life. The asthma has released its stronghold on my lungs and the nasal polyps are history. Praise God. _ by M.N. *

I had been under a lot of stress for about one year. On 5/4/89, my body rebelled and shut down my lungs. I woke up that day and was unable to breathe, so I went to my medical doctor for treatment. For the next 6 months, I was on steroids and inhalers, was out on disability from my job, and went through extensive tests to find out what happened. I never was given a cause, only was given more drugs, and was told that I would have to stay on all this medicine for the rest of my life. A friend was a true believer chiropractic, and her persistence paid off. I made my appointment with my chiropractor who found many subluxations in my spine, which were closing off my life line to many parts of my body, especially my lungs. I have been seeing my chiropractor for almost one year now, and I have not felt better in a long time. I do not get many illnesses at all anymore, and when I do get a cold or flu, it only lasts a day or two. I feel that chiropractic has saved me from many years of taking unnecessary medication and enduring a poor quality of life... by M.M. *

BACK AND LEG PAIN

I have had neck pain with migraines for 10 years and lower back pain radiating into the legs (hamstrings) for 3 weeks. When the pain became unbearable, I decided to try chiropractic. Since then (2 weeks), the pain has lessened extremely and I have not had a migraine for a week! I am less tired, have more energy, more mobility. I sleep better. I can now walk for 2 miles instead of not walking at all. I plan to continue chiropractic care, and am recommending it to others. ... by L.A.

I had pain and discomfort in lower back (for 20 years) and ringing in my left ear (for 3-4 months). An orthopedist recommended muscle relaxers and bed rest. But after I tried chiropractic, the lower back problems improved significantly and had immediate cessation of the ringing in the ear. I have a general feeling of improved health and well being. I am able to perform my job and leisure activities without constantly worrying about a disabling spasm in my lower back. ... by R.S

I have always had low back and shoulder pain, and for the last 2 years, leg pain all the way down my right leg. I tried pain pills, ice pack, heating pad and mineral ice. Someone suggested trying chiropractic instead of all these pills and remedies that weren't helping. I went and heard the doctor speak about the bones, nerves and cells in the office. I am now less tired, have less pain in my leg and back, and am able to function better. I have improved tremendously. I'm able to walk further distances without tiredness or pain. I have a better attitude and better resistance. Even things like ear aches and swollen glands disappeared. I'm glad I learned what chiropractic is really about. ... by E.B.

I had two herniated discs (L4 and L5) causing me pain for 5 months. I tried physical therapy, but it wasn't helping. Since trying chiropractic, I am able to walk longer than before without pain! I am recommending chiropractic to others. ... by P.B.

I have had lower back pain as well as sciatica. I had tried resting and taking Tylenol. The pain got so bad that I was barely able to walk, and this affected by performance at work where all I do is walk. My parents suggested that I try chiropractic. My pain has now disappeared, and I'm actually happier. I can also stand up straight, something I could never do without actually putting effort into it. Now it just comes naturally. I have improved 100%. I have noticed that I am less tired, have more energy and am able to manage stress better. I plan to continue chiropractic care because I always want to feel this good. I never realized what chiropractic could do until after my first visit. I was happier and felt good about myself. Chiropractic improved the quality of my life, and I very thankful to have had someone recommend it to me. It truly changed my life for the better. _ by O.D.F.

I have had sciatica for some time now. Because I do not like to take medication, I tried chiropractic. My sciatica is now cured, and I have a P.M.A. (positive mental attitude). I can resume walking (and standing). ... by A.C.

I suffer from sciatica and a swollen left knee. My M.D. had given me a cortisone injection in the knee and electrical stimulation. My son, a massage therapist, recommended chiropractic. Since I began chiropractic treatment, the swelling in my knee has gone down and there is no more pain, and I'm now able to walk and go upstairs normally. I am 90% better. My sciatica pain is almost totally gone. I now walk 3 to 4 miles daily, as I have in the past. ... by M.M.

My son had chronic ear infections since he was a baby. At four years old, the doctors wanted to do surgery to put tubes in his ears. My husband, who was skeptical, finally agreed to let us try chiropractic instead of surgery. My son stopped having ear infections right away. We had one adjustment each week for 8 weeks. My husband is now a believer. We continue with regular chiropractic care for prevention. ... by C.P.

I was under chiropractic care during my pregnancy, and it helped me so much. I had a fairly easy natural childbirth experience. I brought my baby daughter to the chiropractor at 2 days old, and my chiropractor found that her 2nd neck bone was out of alignment, probably due to the natural trauma of birth. She has been under chiropractic care since then, and so has my son. They are now 12 and 10 years old, and have never had an ear infection ever. I can't even remember when they were sick. They don't even get colds, have never had strep throat, don't get digestive ailments, or any other "ordinary" childhood illnesses. If their subluxations had not been found and corrected at their early age, who knows what they might have suffered. They will also probably avoid a lot of the structural problems that I have had in my back over the years. Chiropractic is our family's way of life. _ by S.P.

MIGRAINES

I had migraines 2 - 3 times per week, and regular headaches most other days. The problem began at age 18 (15 years ago). I was treated by painkillers, beta blockers, allergy shots, avoiding things that potentiate migraines. The migraines continued. After 4 months of chiropractic care, the migraines disappeared. Any headache is very rare now, after 7 months of care. I now have a better complexion, better resistance, more regular and lighter menstrual cycles. I'm stronger, happier, and I sleep better. I am now able to carry my toddler and can cope with regular child care and housework as well as being strong enough to return to work as a nurse part time. My chiropractor is an answer to prayer. I was ready to die 10 years earlier in trade for no more headaches. ... by D.C., R.N.

NECK AND ARM PAIN

I had a herniated disc in my neck. For 3-4 months, I was in pain. Orthopedic medicine only helped a little, so I decided to try chiropractic to explore all options for recovery. I have noticed a big improvement in pain relief from chiropractic. I am now able to resume my work which requires a lot of physical labor. My arm strength when tested initially was only 80 lbs. on the left. After treatment, my arm strength greatly increased 35 lbs. up to 115 lbs. ... by K.G.

After a car accident in which I was "rear-ended", I had neck problems and upper back problems. I tried physical therapy and ultrasound, but decided to try chiropractic because it was highly recommended by my sister and brother-in-law (a pro football player). I can now teach group fitness classes with absolutely no pain! I recommend chiropractic care to everyone BEFORE they try anything else! ... by M.B.

Several years ago, I had a car accident. We were all seen in the ER and sent home to take pain medication when necessary. The second day after the accident ,I began to experience neurological symptoms - left-sided numbness and tingling from my face on down to my toes. I had an emergency appointment with a top neurologist who set up physical therapy, x-rays and a head MRI which showed 2 herniated discs in my neck. After 3 months of PT, I had another MRI of my neck because my pain was not ending. I experienced pain in my neck, jaw, left arm, shoulder, upper back and into my hip and leg. Narcotics had been prescribed, but made me too sleepy; a muscle relaxer did nothing. I was taking Motrin constantly to try to reduce the pain. After 6 months of PT 3 times/week, pain meds and no relief, the neurologist ordered a CT scan which showed a bone spur in my neck - the next procedure was traction. I continued traction and PT 3 times per week and used traction at home twice a day. One year had passed, I was beside myself because there was not one day that went by that I did not have pain in my neck. My husband had started chiropractic care, and I agreed to see him. After several treatments, I received my first relief of pain. To this day, I continue with chiropractic care, and I have always received good results after treatment. _ by D.W., R.N.

STOMACH AND DIGESTION

Before I went to the chiropractic clinic, my body was completely blown out. I had lower back pain and a mild case of scoliosis. My digestive system was not working properly, and I had heartburn. Since I started chiropractic treatment, I have more energy than ever before. I don't have to take drugs for heartburn or stress. I can move in ways I never could before. After being a patient for one month, I, too, want to share the healing powers of chiropractic, so I'm currently enrolled in chiropractic college. I has left an impression on my whole life. ... by R.S. *

One evening, while waiting for a friend, I read a pamphlet on Chiropractic and high blood pressure. The chiropractor came out and started telling me how the spine influences all of our body's functions. What he was saying made sense. That evening, I had my first adjustment. Within three months, my blood pressure was normal, and I was digesting foods such as salad and steak, but best of all, I was eating strawberries which I love and haven't been able to eat since childhood. I thank God for chiropractic..! by M.R. *

OTHER CONDITIONS - Cerebral Palsy

I have lived with pain all my life, and had several surgeries over my 40 years (I have cerebral palsy). I had seen a chiropractor about twenty years ago, and I stopped going because it was somewhat painful. After my last surgery, my doctor told me that under no circumstances should I see a chiropractor. After being educated by spine4health.com, both Doctor Panzica and I decided that he should evaluate me. He took some x-rays, and showed me his PAIN FREE technique. We both believed that he could SUCCESSFULLY and SAFELY treat me, and I received my first treatment that day. After only four months of treatment, the pain in my knees has decreased about 85%. I have regained most of the mobility in my neck, my balance has improved, and my overall ability to walk has improved about 15%. This may not seem like much, but a year (5 days a week, 2 hours a day) of VERY PAINFUL physical therapy improved my ability to walk by 20% and did nothing for the pain...by the way, I am the

OTHER CONDITIONS - BLADDER

After a car accident, I was not able to urinate. My M.D. gave me prescription drugs which wasn't doing any good, and pure logic told me it had to be a pressed bladder nerve. Since starting chiropractic care, urination started again and did away with bladder bags. I now have a general good feeling all around. It's good to be back in good circulation again. .. by A.L.

OTHER CONDITIONS - DIZZINESS

I have had different problems caused by allergies. The worst conditions were dizziness, nausea and frequent sinus infections. I had used over-the-counter drugs, then prescription drugs. My husband suggested I try chiropractic. He has had many positive experiences with chiropractic care. Since I began chiropractic care, the dizziness and nausea are gone. I've had only 2 sinus infections in the last 12 years. I'd say I have improved 98%. I believe the biggest change is in my energy level. I have much more energy and I sleep better. These two things combined give me a much better overall attitude about life in general. While I am careful not to go on any rides, I rollerblade, sail and sleigh ride. I also participate in outdoor sports which involve movement , but I'm never affected by dizziness. I am continuing under chiropractic care, and of course, I recommend it to others. Chiropractic care is a great way to better, sustained health. Best of all, it's natural. It doesn't hurt. It's quick and the results are seen very quickly! ... by N.C.

OTHER CONDITIONS - JOINT PAIN

For the last 8 years (since I was 12 years old), I have had pinched nerves in my back causing me aches in knees and joints, TMJ, headaches, disturbed sleeping/insomnia. I tried orthopedic, heating pads, ice packs until my father suggested my family try chiropractic. I can now sleep during the night uninterrupted. Walking and everyday activities seem easier. TMJ is almost non-existent. I am less tired, have more energy and sleep better. I can actually sleep comfortably, and for a full 8 hours without waking up due to neck and back pain. I've finally gotten my life back - now I can actually have a deep restful night's sleep. I am recommending chiropractic to as many people as possible. ... by A.D.F.

OTHER CONDITIONS - PARALYSIS

I had lost use of both legs and right arm, and was using a wheelchair. I spent 1 week in the hospital with all sorts of tests. The "medical" doctors said the problem was "in my head". I knew they were wrong. Under chiropractic care, I can walk and use my arm again. I went skiing last winter. I have no more headaches, and also no more incontinence which the doctors wanted to do surgery for. Since I regained my health, I can resume all activities including trying quite a few new ones with the confidence that I will never have a problem again. I am continuing chiropractic care, and wholeheartedly recommend it to others. ... by P.P.

I went for my first chiropractic visit for a healthy visit. I felt good. I thought it was normal to sleep with a pillow and a wedge pillow every night and to hurt when I bent down to garden which had been the case for 6 years since I had bronchitis. My husband suggested our family go for 1 visit, and that's all it took. The results were remarkable. I felt so good and healthy. After the 1st visit, I threw away my wedge pillow and could sleep comfortably with or without a pillow. Also, no longer any difficulty gardening. I am less tired, less stressed, and very happy. THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH ME - I FEEL FINE!

There's nothing wrong with me - I feel fine! This is a common phrase of people who feel healthy. BUT the public has been mis-educated over the years to thinking that the absence of symptoms or disease means health. This is not correct! Feeling healthy has nothing to do with being healthy! How many times have you heard of a person who appeared healthy, and suddenly found out they had a serious disease or suddenly died?

Health according to Dorland's Medical Dictionary states that "health is not merely the absence of disease." Webster's Dictionary states that health is "organs functioning at 100%, 100%of the time."

Chiropractic maintains the nervous system free from subluxations (spinal bones out of place thus causing nerve interference) allowing all the organs, glands and tissues in the body to function properly so the you can be in a true state of health.

When one of the spinal bones is misaligned (subluxated), it interferes with the flow of nerve impulses between the brain and the body. This lowers overall resistance and function, and can lead to serious problems. One thing is certain. There is no way you can ever expect to be healthy if you are subluxated. You may feel good for a while, but you will never attain a state of true health.

SUBLUXATIONS ARE LIKE CAVITIES!

Subluxations are like cavities in that you never know if you have a subluxation or have a cavity until they get bad enough to cause you pain. Chiropractic check-ups are as important as dental check-ups for a sound spine and nerve supply.

The chiropractic approach to health is prevention which is sensible. Even the federal government is now urging the medical community to take measure to keep people healthy rather than treating symptoms after people get sick. How do you know if you have a nerve blockage? You don't! Unless you are lucky enough that your body is warning you with symptoms or pain, most nerve blockages go unnoticed - sometimes for years. These are the dangerous ones which actually choke off vital nerve energy to organs and all parts of the body. The intelligent approach to health is prevention! A professional chiropractic examination is the only way to be sure your body is getting a full nerve supply so that you maintain a state of true health.
